Hi, i'm Kunal

About Me

I am an engineer, researcher, and open source contributor specializing in Agentic and Distributed Systems. I began my open source journey with OWASP, and I have contributed to several CNCF projects such as OpenKruise, Knative, and KubeStellar.

I am currently working on the adoption and optimization of Kubernetes for GPU-based systems, where I focus on building and shipping production-grade solutions

I am also a GSoC 2026 Mentor for OWASP, and I strongly advocate for student involvement in technology, especially within open source communities. I have also led the IEEE BIT Mesra wing as Co-Director, where I mentor beginners on writing clean code, conducting effective code reviews, building strong testing habits, and using AI responsibly.

I occasionally write about open source distributed systems, and developer tooling on my blog.

Selected as a mentor for Google Summer of Code 2026 under OWASP BLT. Reviewed contributor proposals, defined project scope and milestones, conducted PR reviews, and onboarded new contributors to the codebase — helping them navigate the project structure and establish strong open source practices.
